Oakworth Construction have worked with 5 Rivers Co housing for 3 years bringing forward our own site for the first new Build Co housing project in Sheffield. Oakworth worked with our clients who are ultimately the residents, developing a scheme for them. We navigated the project through the design stage on to planning then on to the construction phase. 50 weeks construction period is only achievable through the support of the Oakworth group with the timber frames coming from Oakworth Homes.

The project has many standouts one of which is the fact that the homes achieve an A rating for energy efficiency thus ensuring the homes tackle fuel poverty head on.

Project Highlights

Environmental – Homes achieved the highest thermal efficiency EPC rating of A. Integrating timber frame, triple glazing, air source heat pumps, solar PV and high levels of air tightness.

Affordable housing – Through the Co-housing approach and Oakworth being the enabler, the homes are truly affordable.

Health and Safety – Zero accidents and a clean report from a surprise HSE visit. 4 hours with a full site audit and no issues found!!!! HSE inspectors praised our safety culture.

Environmentally conscious Homes – Utilising a fabric first approach with our timber frames combining with air source heat pumps.
